Short Sunday ride to Alice's

On Sunday, we did a short ride going up Hwy. 84 to Skyline, stopped at Alice's for some coffee and ice cream ( Theda ), then rode down 84 to La Honda, took the old Pescadero Road to Hyw. 1, where e met with Gaby again. We had planned to go to the beach with Janine, but is was so cold and foggy, we decided instead to go to Half Moon Bay. Than we went home, where Janine treated us to yummy pizza.





At Alice's, there are always a lot of bikes to see. Most of them are Harley's. Some examples ?



Wonder how you feel after riding this rod for 300 miles ??

Sven ist hier :-)

Sven came "home" over the weekend from Santa Barbara with his bike to visit his old parents. He drove down Hwy 1, said he enjoyed the ride ( who would not ?? ), though it was somewhat foggy and cold.

I think, he's enjoying staying here, because the food is free and he can visit old friends.

His Yamaha YZF 600R looks cool. He very likes this bike, it's a bit sporty and good for touring also. The 300 miles yesterday haven't been too bad, he said.


Anke is happy, too, to see her brother again :-)

A new tire

It was time. Actually, it was way more than time, as you can see. I needed a new rear tire for the BMW. You can buy those on the Internet, kinda cheap, nowadays. I prefer to buy them at my trusted mechanic, which is Die Werkstatt . A place, owned and run by women, in San Francisco, in the Mission District.. Jennifer, the owner, was trained in Munich, Germany. She's racing, too. Her latest interest is racing electro bikes. How cool is that ??!

A couple stats : I switched from a Michelin Pilot Road to a Michelin Pilot Road 2 ( that's a 2 compound tire, softer with more grip on the sides, harder for better milage in the middle ), same measurements 170/60ZR17 .
Price : $ 141.80 + $ 36 labor + $ 13.47 tax
= sum of $ 191.27. Milage 27,919.

I hope, the new tire will last about 8000 miles, like the old one.
